3mpStudio ALT Finder helps WordPress site owners review image ALT text without opening every Media Library attachment individually.
The plugin provides a dedicated screen under Media > ALT Finder where authorized users can:
- Find image attachments with empty or missing ALT text.
- Review all image attachments in one searchable view.
- See image previews, filenames, and current ALT text.
- Edit and save ALT text one image at a time.
- Review simple ALT coverage statistics.
ALT Finder uses WordPress’s standard _wp_attachment_image_alt metadata. Deactivating or deleting the plugin does not remove ALT text that has already been saved.
Accessibility note
ALT Finder assists with managing image alternative text. It does not make a website automatically accessible or compliant with any accessibility standard. Decorative images may appropriately use empty ALT text depending on their context and implementation.
Free and Pro
This free plugin is fully functional for finding and individually editing image ALT text. An optional, separately distributed ALT Finder Pro plugin adds bulk editing and a Save All Changes workflow. Pro is not required to use this plugin.
