ARES – Czech Company Lookup for WooCommerce adds Company ID and VAT ID fields to both the classic and block checkout. A customer can use a Company ID to fill the company name, street, city, postal code, and VAT ID from the public Czech ARES register.
The lookup can be enabled or disabled and restricted by language, currency, and customer role. Company ID and VAT ID fields are also available during registration, in the customer account billing address, and in the customer and order administration screens. Stores may optionally validate Company IDs when forms are submitted and assign a customer-like role after a logged-in shopper saves a Company ID. Order data is saved through the WooCommerce CRUD API, and the plugin declares compatibility with HPOS and the block checkout.
Successful lookup results are cached for 12 hours. Unsuccessful lookup results are cached for 15 minutes. Lookup requests are limited to 120 per IP address per hour. The IP address is not stored in plain text; the plugin uses an MD5-derived transient key that expires after one hour.
The store connects directly to the Czech Ministry of Finance ARES API. The public plugin does not contact WooModuly.cz for licensing or updates. WordPress.org provides updates for this version.

The plugin calls the ARES service at https://ares.gov.cz/ when a customer or administrator triggers a company lookup. In the block checkout, the lookup can start automatically after the Company ID field changes. The request payload contains the entered Company ID and receives public company information. The standard WordPress HTTP User-Agent can also include the WordPress version and the store URL. ARES does not require an account or API key.
