Blockwist Toolkit extends supported WordPress core blocks with lightweight editor and frontend enhancements.
It is designed to complement the native WordPress block experience rather than replace it. Toolkit works with Blockwist and other compatible WordPress themes, so the Blockwist theme is not required.
The initial release focuses on scroll animations. Select a supported block in the editor and choose an entrance effect, duration, delay, and whether the animation should play once or replay when the block leaves and re-enters the viewport.
Scroll Animations
Choose from six entrance effects:
- Fade
- Fade Up
- Fade Down
- Fade Left
- Fade Right
- Zoom In
Animation controls are integrated directly into the block editor and include:
- Animation effect
- Duration
- Delay
- Play once or replay
Supported Blocks
Scroll animations are currently available for:
- Group
- Columns and Column
- Cover
- Image
- Media & Text
- Heading
- Paragraph
- Buttons and Button
Native and Lightweight
Blockwist Toolkit uses native WordPress block APIs, local CSS, and a small vanilla JavaScript runtime.
It does not require an external animation library, remote service, account, or theme dependency.
Progressive Enhancement
Animations are treated as an enhancement rather than a requirement for accessing your content.
Content remains visible when JavaScript is unavailable, IntersectionObserver is unsupported, reduced motion is requested, or Toolkit is deactivated.
Works Beyond Blockwist
Despite its name, Blockwist Toolkit does not require the Blockwist theme.
Toolkit enhances supported WordPress core blocks and can be used with Blockwist, Blockwist child themes, and other compatible WordPress themes.
