Breadcrumb Trail
– Trail Mode: Automatic — builds the trail from the current post, page, or WooCommerce product context automatically. Choose the source explicitly (Post / Page / Product) or leave it on “Auto-detect.”
– Toggle “Show Category” to include the post/product category (with parent categories) in the trail.
– Toggle “Show Parent Pages” to include ancestor pages for hierarchical Pages.
– Toggle “Show Current Item” to include/exclude the current page title as the last crumb.
– Trail Mode: Manual — add, reorder, or remove trail items yourself in the repeater. Leave the last item’s link empty, and it becomes the non-clickable “current” item. Each item can optionally show an icon before its label (from Elementor’s icon library), and you can hide the text so only the icon shows.
Home Link
– Rename the label, set a custom URL, and optionally show an icon before (or instead of) the text.
Separator
– Text/symbol (e.g.,>, /, •), an icon from Elementor’s icon library, or an uploaded SVG.
SEO
– Toggle JSON-LD BreadcrumbList structured data output (on by default) — helps Google show your breadcrumb trail directly in search results.
Collapse / Dropdown
– Turn on “Collapse Long Trails into a Dropdown” to keep long trails compact: the first item and a set number of trailing items (including the current page) stay visible, and everything in between collapses behind a “…” button. Clicking it opens a dropdown listing the hidden items. Set “Max Visible Items” to control how many crumbs show before it collapses.
Style settings
– Skin — five ready-made, eye-catching looks (Pill Chips, Gradient Bar, Underline Sweep, Glass Card, Arrow Ribbon), or “None” to use the manual style controls below.
– Layout — space between items, alignment.
– Typography — font family/weight/size/color for items, plus a separate color for the current (non-link) item.
– Links — link color, hover color, hover underline on/off.
– Separator — color and size (works for text, icon, and SVG).
– Item Box — background color, padding, border (style/width/color), border radius, and box shadow — useful if you want each crumb to look like a small pill/chip.
– Item Icons — (manual trail mode) size, color, and gap for the per-item icons.
– Dropdown — (shown when the dropdown collapse is enabled) toggle color, menu background, menu text color, and item hover background.
Notes on the SVG separator option
WordPress blocks SVG uploads by default for security (an SVG can carry embedded script). This plugin re-enables SVG uploads in the Media Library so the “Custom SVG Upload” separator option works. Only give Media Library upload access to trusted admins/editors. If you’d rather not loosen this site-wide, remove the upload_mimes filter in breadcrumb-widget-pro.php and instead install a dedicated SVG-sanitizing plugin (e.g., “Safe SVG”) — the widget’s Media control will still work with whatever SVG upload path you use.
