This is an AI chat widget that answers visitor questions automatically, using the information you give it about your business, and captures leads while you’re not around.
This plugin places the widget on every front-end page of your site. Paste in your Business ID and save — that’s the whole setup.
Optionally, it can also let the chat answer using your own pages and posts. Add a Site Key from your dashboard, choose which content types to include, and the plugin sends the title, summary, link and featured image of your published content to chatcobalt.com so the AI can answer from it and link visitors to the right page. This is off unless you turn it on.

Privacy
When you save a Business ID in the settings screen, this plugin makes one request from your site to https://www.chatcobalt.com/api/widget-config to confirm the ID and read back your business name and brand color. It sends only the Business ID you entered, and only when you click Save changes.
Once configured, this plugin loads a script from chatcobalt.com on every page of your site so the chat widget can appear. That script:
- Sends visitor chat messages to the server so the AI can generate a reply.
- If a visitor voluntarily shares contact details (name, email, phone) during the conversation, that information is stored in your account so you can follow up.
- Does not run or track anything before a visitor actually opens and uses the chat widget.
If you enable “Answer with your content” by adding a Site Key and selecting content types, the plugin also sends your published content to https://www.chatcobalt.com/api/wp/sync — specifically the title, summary or excerpt, permalink, featured image URL and post type of each item, for the content types you chose. It runs when you click Sync now, and again when you publish or update a matching item. Only published, publicly visible content is sent: drafts, private and password-protected items are excluded. Removing your Site Key stops it.
No visitor data is stored by this plugin itself, or in your WordPress database — everything the widget collects is sent directly to your own account. See the Privacy Policy for full details, and consider mentioning this data flow in your own site’s privacy policy.
