Important: API terms and commercial use
Codemio Anime Publisher provides tools for publishing anime information. Using the plugin does not grant permission to use AniList’s API, descriptions, or third-party artwork, or approval for commercial use. Before enabling connections, review the AniList API Terms of Use, obtain any permissions required for your use, and comply with attribution, request limits, and content removal requirements. A successful connection does not establish permission. This plugin is independent and is not endorsed by AniList.
Bring selected anime to your WordPress website with customizable cards and a managed library. Search AniList, save the titles you want to feature, and display them with Gutenberg, Elementor, shortcodes, or WooCommerce product tabs.
Saved information stays on your site until you update or remove it. Public cards read your saved library without making API requests. Covers load from external image hosts by default; optional Media Library storage is available.
Main features
- Search AniList and prepare selected anime in My library.
- Display one anime or a collection of up to 12 with Gutenberg or a shortcode.

Shortcode examples
Prepare the matching AniList entry in My library before displaying it:
[ampub_anime_publisher source="anilist" ids="1"]
[ampub_anime_library source="anilist" per_page="12"]
[ampub_anime_publisher source="anilist" ids="1" fields="cover,episodes,score,description" title="My editorial title"]
AniList IDs belong to AniList and are not interchangeable with IDs from other services. Layouts include cards and compact. Use description="false" to hide the synopsis. The plugin is intended for curated selections, not full-database collection.
Upgrading to 1.0.17
MyAnimeList integration has been removed. Old provider selections, shortcodes, blocks, and product associations are not converted to AniList IDs. Unsupported entries are excluded from current library selection, catalogs, comparison, image retrieval, and update jobs. Old cards show an unavailable-provider message or are omitted in Pro collections. Previously stored records, editorial text, and attachments are preserved privately; no automatic replacement or deletion occurs. Select the corresponding title from AniList to replace an old association manually.
Saved database credentials for the removed integration are discarded on upgrade. Server configuration values for it are ignored; remove obsolete constants or environment variables yourself. Sites whose default provider was removed must explicitly enable the AniList connection in Settings. Sites already using AniList retain their connection choice.
External services
Connections are disabled by default. When enabled, requested searches and selected anime IDs are sent from your WordPress server to https://graphql.anilist.co. Requests include a plugin user agent and your WordPress home URL. The plugin does not collect analytics or send visitor account data to AniList.
- Purpose: public anime metadata search and administrator-requested updates.
- Terms: https://docs.anilist.co/guide/terms-of-use
- Privacy: https://anilist.co/terms
Covers normally load from HTTPS URLs returned by AniList. Visitors’ browsers contact those image hosts, which receive their IP address and normal request headers. Image referrers are suppressed. Optional local storage downloads approved raster images from s4.anilist.co, limits files to 5 MB, validates dimensions and type, and re-encodes images. GD or Imagick is required. Local mode uses a placeholder when import fails rather than silently loading a remote image. Artwork ownership and redistribution permissions remain with the relevant rights holders.
Saved data and privacy
Prepared anime snapshots have no expiry. Scores, status, and schedules stay as last fetched until an administrator requests an update. Searches do not change prepared records. Public rendering makes no API request. Failed updates preserve the previous snapshot. Recoverable legacy snapshots migrate locally without provider requests.
Outbound requests are paced at least three seconds apart and respect provider cooldowns. No full-catalog import, user watchlist synchronization, or automatic provider refresh is provided. The optional companion can process only explicitly confirmed bulk update jobs.
REST search requires editing permissions; preparation and entry management require administrator permissions. Settings and maintenance use capabilities and nonces. API requests use fixed HTTPS destinations, disabled redirects, bounded responses, and timeouts. Output is escaped. The sensitive-content switch follows provider flags and is not age verification.
Uninstall preserves saved anime information by default. Optional cleanup removes settings, selected entries, and product association metadata. Published post content and blocks are retained. Owned attachment deletion is a separate optional setting; imported artwork may also be used elsewhere on your site.
