Decanter Images

Decanter Images converts JPEG and PNG images to WebP and AVIF when they are uploaded. Conversion runs on your own server using GD or Imagick; no external service is used.

Images are served with a <picture> element so each browser gets AVIF, WebP, or the original, in that order of preference.

• Choose which source formats to convert (JPEG, PNG).
• Set WebP and AVIF quality separately.
• Keep or remove the original files (originals are kept by default).
• A converted file larger than its original is discarded.
• An admin notice is shown when the server cannot create WebP or AVIF.
