Doozly Affiliate Box for Amazon

Affiliate Box for Amazon puts a clean, responsive product box anywhere on your site. You build a box once on the Product Boxes screen and paste one short line into a post — [affiliate_box box="a7f3k2c9"]. The box shows the product image, title, price, star rating and a clearly labelled affiliate link.

Because the product lives in one place rather than in the post text, the same box can appear in twenty posts and still be changed once. That is also what makes it possible to keep the price honest: a price written into a post is a price nobody ever revisits.

Connect your Amazon Creators API credential and the plugin fills the box for you: paste an ASIN, press Fetch from Amazon, and title, image, price and rating arrive from Amazon. Without a credential everything still works — you type the values yourself.

The plugin is built for Amazon Associates. You enter a separate Associates Tracking ID for each marketplace you are enrolled in, point a box at any store with the marketplace attribute, and the right ID is appended to every outbound link — falling back to the marketplace you nominate whenever a target store has none of its own.

What you get

• Product Boxes — search Amazon or paste an ASIN, and the fields fill themselves. Save the box, copy its one-line shortcode, and change the price in one place for every page that shows it.
• Amazon API — the Creators API fills title, image and price from an ASIN or a keyword search. One credential per region, stored encrypted.
• Marketplaces — one Associates Tracking ID per store, with a warning when an ID does not match the store it is filed under.
• A block and a widget — add Affiliate Box in the editor and pick your box from a list; the real box appears while you choose. For sidebars there is a widget as well, defaulting to the narrow layout.

Features

• A block for the editor — no key to copy and nothing to type. The [affiliate_box] shortcode still works everywhere it always did: the classic editor, Elementor, and the shortcode or text widget of every common page builder.
• Every active Amazon Associates marketplace (22 stores): US, CA, MX, BR, UK, IE, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL, BE, SE, PL, TR, AE, SA, EG, IN, SG, JP, AU.
• Per-marketplace ASINs, images and titles — the same product usually carries a different ASIN in each store.
• Star ratings and review counts, typed in by you. Amazon accepts a request for them and answers without them, so no plugin can fill these reliably – see the FAQ.
• Guaranteed fallback: a marketplace with no Tracking ID of its own borrows the one from your fallback marketplace — which store that is, you choose. Start on amazon.in alone and add the United States later without disturbing anything.
• Five layouts, each named with the size it takes: In post (640 px), Sidebar (400 px), Compact (640 × 78 px) — a single line for naming a product without cutting the paragraph in half — Button only (auto × 38 px), just the call to action for after a paragraph that already named the product, and Hero (960 px), wide with a bigger picture and a line in small capitals above the name for the pick at the top of a review.
• Three image sizes, colour pickers for button, background and title, customisable button text.
• Built-in FTC affiliate disclosure, on by default.
• Outbound links carry rel="nofollow noopener sponsored".

Shortcode reference

Every attribute is optional, but a useful box needs at least asin (or url) plus title and image. Anything left empty falls back to the value set under Settings → Affiliate Box.

In almost every case you want the short form: [affiliate_box box="a7f3k2c9"] shows a box you built on the Product Boxes screen, and the Shortcode column there hands you the finished line. The attributes below let a post carry the product data itself instead; they are still read, so older posts keep working, but nothing needs writing by hand any more.

With box set, the product details always come from the saved box. Only layout, image_size, bg_color and button_text can be overridden per post — otherwise the price in a post would go stale again, which is the problem the saved box solves.

Premium version

A Premium version is available at doozly.link. It adds bestseller lists, comparison tables, review boxes carrying your own photo and score, IP-based geotargeting — every affiliate link rewritten to the Amazon store closest to the visitor — rotation, which shows a different one of your saved boxes at the same spot each day, reports on how often each box was seen and clicked, and a nightly refresh that keeps saved prices current. This free plugin is complete on its own and never asks for a licence key. Each of these features has a tab in it as a preview, saying what the feature does — nothing in the free plugin is locked, because the code for them is not part of it.

Product images

The plugin stores an image address and renders it. It cannot tell where that address came from, and it does not try to.

Pressing Fetch from Amazon or picking a search result fills the field from the Amazon Creators API, which is the path Amazon’s Associates Operating Agreement intends for product images. You can also type an address yourself — the field accepts any URL, because a product box is often built before a credential exists, or from your own photography.

Which images you are entitled to display is between you and Amazon. The Associates Operating Agreement limits it, that agreement is between Amazon and you as the account holder, and the plugin is not a party to it. Anything you enter is published on your site under your responsibility.

External services

This plugin connects to the Amazon Creators API to fetch product data — title, image, price, and where Amazon supplies them the star rating and review count — for an ASIN or a keyword search you enter in the admin. This happens only when you press Fetch from Amazon or Search, and only after you have entered your own Amazon credential. Without a credential the plugin makes no external request at all.

What is sent: the ASIN or search term you typed, the marketplace you selected, your Associates Tracking ID, and your credential, which Amazon needs to authorise the call. No visitor data and no data about your site is sent, and nothing is sent when a page is viewed on the front end — the box renders from values already stored on your server.

The API is provided by Amazon.com, Inc. Endpoints: https://creatorsapi.amazon for product data, and https://api.amazon.com, https://api.amazon.co.uk or https://api.amazon.co.jp to obtain an access token for your region. The plugin connects to no other service and sends nothing to the plugin author.

One clarification, so nothing here reads as hidden. The Geotargeting tab in this plugin is a preview of a Premium feature. That feature asks your own server for the visitor’s country first and, only where the server cannot say and you leave the lookup switched on, a free IP-to-country service (api.bigdatacloud.net, failing over to ipwho.is). It belongs to the Premium version, which is a separate plugin: this plugin contains no code that contacts those services, and nothing on the preview makes a request.
