The plugin includes shortcode support that allows you to showcase video reviews with responsive and customizable styles on your website.
Why do You Need a Testimonial Plugin?
- Influence customer decisions: A robust testimonial solution helps your customers make informed decisions based on other customer reviews. People are more likely to try a new product or service when they find recommendations from other users.
- Build trust: Customers often turn to reviews to gain confidence in a product before purchasing. Reviews from those who’ve bought the product prove its quality and reliability.
- Increased conversions: High-quality testimonials act as persuasive content, encouraging potential customers to take action. Addressing common concerns or objections through testimonials can alleviate doubts and hesitations, leading to higher conversion rates.

Hosted plan limits (review count and video length) are enforced by that remote service. Optional WooCommerce / EDD / upload / floating-widget features are provided by a separate Easy Video Reviews PowerPack add-on plugin, which is not distributed through WordPress.org.

Hosted service plans (evr.wppool.dev)
Review storage, serving, folders/galleries, and account authentication run on the Easy Video Reviews hosted API. Free hosted accounts include limited review counts and video length (see FAQ). Higher hosted plans increase those remote quotas. This is a remote service limit, not a lock inside this WordPress.org plugin’s local code.
Easy Video Reviews PowerPack add-on (separate plugin, not on WordPress.org)
The following optional features ship in a separate Easy Video Reviews PowerPack plugin (sold independently). The WordPress.org plugin shows matching admin UI with upgrade prompts only; the working feature code is not included in this directory zip.
- Drag and drop / manual video upload
- WooCommerce integration (product tab, checkout, thank-you page, order emails)
- Easy Digital Downloads integration
- Floating review widget and enhanced widget customization
- Automated review collection after WooCommerce / EDD orders
- Custom form builder for extra customer fields

Collect more reviews than ever with powerful integrations with WooCommerce
WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads order-flow integrations (product tab, checkout, thank-you page, and order emails) are available when the separate Easy Video Reviews PowerPack add-on is installed. The WordPress.org plugin itself still records and showcases testimonials via shortcode, Gutenberg, and Elementor.
With the Pro add-on you can:
- Collect customer reviews from the WooCommerce product page.
- Request testimonials from the order completion email.
- Collect text and video reviews from checkout and thank-you pages.
Ratings and reviews have an unparallel influence on converting a visitor into a customer. Video reviews take that conversion rate to a new height. Easy Video Reviews is designed to make businesses earn more money and attract new customers every day.

Privacy Policy
Easy Video Reviews uses Appsero SDK to collect some telemetry data upon the user’s confirmation. This helps us to troubleshoot problems faster & make product improvements.
Appsero SDK does not gather any data by default. The SDK only starts gathering basic telemetry data when a user allows it via the admin notice. We collect the data to ensure a great user experience for all our users.
Integrating Appsero SDK DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY start gathering data, without confirmation from users in any case.
The one exception is the optional deactivation survey: if an admin chooses to submit it when deactivating the plugin, the selected reason, any text they type, and the site URL are sent to Appsero. Skipping the survey sends nothing.
Learn more about how Appsero collects and uses this data.
Additionally, read the Easy Video Reviews privacy policy and terms and conditions.
A full list of third-party / external services, the data sent to each, and their terms/privacy links is in the External services section below.
External services
This plugin connects to the following third-party / external services. Each service is listed with what it is used for, what data is sent and when, and links to its terms and privacy policy.
Easy Video Reviews remote API (evr.wppool.dev)
This plugin relies on the Easy Video Reviews hosted service (provided by WPPOOL) to create accounts, authenticate sites, store and serve video and text reviews, manage folders/galleries, and enforce hosted account plan limits (review count and video length). The service is required for collecting and displaying reviews.
Data sent: site URL / host, a random site key generated by this plugin during onboarding (sent from the WordPress server, never a WordPress salt or password), authentication tokens (kept on the WordPress server; not printed to visitors), account and login details (when connecting or signing up), review media (video/text), review metadata (user agent, platform, vendor, language, screen size, browser name and version, form field responses, folder IDs, and publish settings), and related API request data. Frontend recorder submissions and public showcase fetches are proxied through this WordPress site so the hosted account token never appears in page source. The visitor’s IP address is not looked up via a third-party IP API; WordPress attaches the IP it observed on the recorder request when forwarding the review to the hosted service. Direct authenticated API calls from the browser happen only in wp-admin after an administrator has connected the site. Requests are also made when the plugin syncs folders or reviews in the admin dashboard.

WPPOOL websites and link redirects (wppool.dev, go.wppool.dev, lnk.wppool.dev)
Used for documentation, pricing, contact/support, affiliate information, and optional marketing campaign links shown in the admin UI. These open in the browser only when an admin clicks a link (or follows an upgrade/docs CTA). go.wppool.dev and lnk.wppool.dev are WPPOOL-operated redirect / campaign URLs that typically land on wppool.dev pages.
Data sent: a standard browser request (URL, referrer, and normal request headers) when the admin clicks the link. No review media is sent to these hosts by the plugin automatically.

Privacy policy: https://wppool.dev/privacy-policy/
Hosted checkout (Stripe / LemonSqueezy via WPPOOL)
When an admin upgrades a hosted Easy Video Reviews subscription from the plugin billing/profile screens, checkout is completed on WPPOOL’s hosted pricing/checkout pages. Payment may be processed by Stripe or LemonSqueezy on that hosted checkout. This WordPress.org plugin does not embed Stripe or LemonSqueezy scripts and does not send card data itself.
Data sent: billing details the admin enters on the hosted checkout (handled by WPPOOL / the payment processor), plus the connected site/account context already associated with the Easy Video Reviews hosted API.

Appsero
Optional telemetry (via the Appsero SDK) used only after an admin opts in through the admin notice. It helps troubleshoot problems and improve the product. No telemetry is sent until consent is given.
Deactivation survey (without opt-in): when an admin deactivates the plugin and chooses to submit the optional feedback form, only the selected reason, the optional feedback text, and the site URL are sent. Skipping the form sends nothing.
Data sent (only after opt-in): WordPress site URL, PHP/WordPress versions, admin name and email, admin public IP address, plugin version and active/inactive state, server software, MySQL version, locale, multisite status, active theme details, and optional plugin deactivation feedback (sent together with this data only when the admin has opted in). Appsero may look up the public IP via icanhazip.com (see below) as part of that flow.
Privacy policy: https://appsero.com/privacy-policy/
Terms / product information: https://appsero.com/
iCanHazIP (icanhazip.com, operated by Cloudflare)
Used by the Appsero insights code to determine the site administrator’s public IP address for telemetry after the admin has opted in. A simple GET request is made; the response is the public IP string.
Data sent: a standard outbound HTTP request from your WordPress server (no extra payload beyond normal request headers). This runs only when Appsero tracking is active after admin consent.

Privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/policies/privacy/
Headway (headwayapp.co)
The admin Documentation screen includes a “What’s New” link to the public Easy Video Reviews changelog page hosted on Headway (https://headwayapp.co/easy-video-reviews-changelog). No Headway scripts or assets are loaded into WordPress; the link opens in a new browser tab only when an admin chooses to click it.

WPPOOL CRM (via evr.wppool.dev)
Used to sync optional contact / mailing-list subscription data with WPPOOL when an admin allows it via the admin notice (for product updates and related communication). This plugin does not store or send a FluentCRM API token. After consent, contact fields are posted to the Easy Video Reviews hosted API, which authenticates to WPPOOL CRM on the server.
Data sent: admin email and related contact fields, plus the plugin identifier and subscribe/unsubscribe action, only when the admin has consented to share that data.
Terms of service: https://wppool.dev/easy-video-reviews-terms-and-conditions/
Privacy policy: https://wppool.dev/privacy-policy/
Social sharing (Facebook, X / Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest)
The admin review manager includes share buttons that open the corresponding social network’s share page in a new tab when an admin clicks them. No social-network scripts are loaded into WordPress automatically.
Data sent: the public review URL (and any default share text) via the share link query string, only after the admin clicks Share.

Email compose helpers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo)

Source code
Compiled / minified JavaScript and CSS in this plugin are built from human-readable source included in the src/ directory of this plugin package (for example src/js/, src/scss/).
Generated assets and their sources include:
public/js/app.min.js— built fromsrc/js/frontend/public/js/admin.min.js— built fromsrc/js/admin/public/js/events.min.js— built fromsrc/js/admin/events.jsincludes/blocks/script/index.js— built fromsrc/js/block/public/css/app.min.css/public/css/admin.min.css— built fromsrc/scss/via Sass and Tailwindpublic/js/vendor/videojs-vtt/vtt.min.js— locally vendored videojs-vtt.js 0.15.5 (human-readable companionvtt.jsin the same folder). video.js is configured to load this local copy instead of fetching a remote captions parser.
Build tooling for those assets (package.json, webpack.*.js, tailwind.*.js) is included in this plugin package.
All JavaScript webpack configs use mode: "production" (no eval() wrappers, minified output). Rebuild with the production commands below so the shipped files match.
Build steps (Node.js and npm required):
npm install- Frontend JS:
npx webpack --config ./webpack.frontend.js --mode production - Admin JS:
npx webpack --config ./webpack.admin.js --mode production - Events JS:
npx webpack --config ./webpack.events.js --mode production - Gutenberg blocks:
npx wp-scripts build --config ./webpack.block.js - Frontend CSS:
npx sass ./src/scss/frontend.scss ./src/css/frontend.cssthennpx tailwindcss -i ./src/css/frontend.css -c ./tailwind.frontend.js -o ./public/css/app.min.css --minify - Admin CSS:
npx sass ./src/scss/admin.scss ./src/css/admin.cssthennpx tailwindcss -i ./src/css/admin.css -c ./tailwind.admin.js -o ./public/css/admin.min.css --minify
Or run npm run build:js to rebuild all four JavaScript bundles in production mode.
Watch-mode equivalents (also production output) are available via the npm scripts defined in package.json (webpack:front, webpack:admin, webpack:events, block:build, front:sass, front:tailwind, admin:sass, admin:tailwind).
