Flx Modernize adds a sale savings badge (for example, “Save 25%”) next to the price on any simple WooCommerce product that’s currently on sale. It’s computed locally, on your own site, from that product’s own regular and sale price — there’s no external service to configure, no account to create, and nothing to set up beyond activating the plugin.
Available now
- Sale savings badge. On a supported product’s page, when the product is on sale, Flx Modernize shows the percentage saved next to WooCommerce’s own price display. It’s active immediately after activation — no configuration required — and can be turned off at any time from Settings > Flx Modernize.
- Supports simple WooCommerce products. Variable, grouped, and external products are left untouched (no badge shown, no error).
- Presentation only: it never changes the product’s actual regular price, sale price, cart total, checkout calculation, or order data. It only adds one small, additive HTML element next to the price WooCommerce already renders.
- Fails closed: if a product’s price data is missing, ambiguous, or of a type this release doesn’t yet support, no badge is shown and WooCommerce’s native price output is completely unaffected.
Optional
Separately, Flx Modernize can optionally attempt to render a small, curated set of supported product pages through an external service called Flx Render, which you would configure and operate yourself. This integration:
- is disabled by default;
- requires you to configure a
FLX_MODERNIZE_RENDER_URLyourself — no publicly available compatible endpoint currently exists, and none is bundled with this plugin; - always falls back to WordPress/WooCommerce’s own native rendering, unmodified, on any failure or when no endpoint is configured;
- is completely independent of the sale savings badge above — the badge works identically whether or not this integration is configured or enabled.
Not yet supported
Flx Modernize does not yet modernize the Shop archive, Cart, Checkout, or My Account pages, does not support variable products, and does not replace your active theme. These are part of the broader Flx Modernize roadmap and are out of scope for this release.
Settings page
Settings > Flx Modernize shows the plugin version, whether the sale savings badge is active, whether the optional Flx Render integration is enabled, and whether a Flx Render endpoint is configured. Each feature has its own enable/disable checkbox — no code editing required.
Default behavior
The sale savings badge ships enabled by default: after you activate Flx Modernize, any simple product you already have on sale will show the badge immediately. This is safe to enable by default because the badge is strictly additive (it never alters price, cart, checkout, or order data) and only ever appears on the product’s own page, next to the price WooCommerce already displays. The optional Flx Render integration remains disabled by default, since it requires you to configure and operate a separate external service.
Configuration precedence
Both features also support wp-config.php constants for environments that need to force a setting regardless of the stored option:
FLX_MODERNIZE_SAVINGS_BADGE_ENABLED(boolean) overrides the sale savings badge checkbox.FLX_MODERNIZE_EXPERIMENT_ENABLED(boolean) overrides the Flx Render integration checkbox.
If a constant is defined, it always wins over the Settings page checkbox. If not defined, the Settings page checkbox controls behavior.
