MBX Reach is an email marketing service for people who write to an audience: newsletters, releases, announcements. This plugin puts one of your MBX Reach signup forms on your WordPress site.
- A block, “MBX Reach signup form”: pick the form, the button text and whether to ask for a first name, and see the real form in the editor.
- A shortcode for everywhere else:
[mbxreach form="frm_0123456789abcdef01234567" button="Subscribe" name="yes"], with your own form’s id. In the block editor it goes in a Shortcode block; a Code block only shows the text. - A default form id under Settings MBX Reach, so blocks and shortcodes can leave the id out, and a list of the other form ids authors may use.
- WooCommerce, when you want it: paste an API key and a list id under Settings MBX Reach and a box “Keep me posted by email” appears at the checkout, unticked. Buyers who tick it get an email asking them to confirm when their order is paid or completed, and join that list with a tag (“customer” unless you choose another) when they click; the purchase is recorded on their contact as an event, so a segment can find your buyers and an automation on that list can thank them. Works with the classic checkout and the block checkout, and with either way WooCommerce stores orders.
The form posts to mbxreach.com, so the list it feeds and the tags it applies are whatever the form has in your MBX Reach panel. A signup that comes from another site, as the plugin’s do, always confirms by email, whatever the list’s double opt-in setting: the visitor sees a page asking them to check their inbox and joins when they click, so the form’s own redirect and thank-you message are not shown for it. Each form also accepts a limited number of new signups an hour from other sites; past it, visitors are asked to try again later. A form needs nothing from this site: no key, no script from us on your pages, and nothing kept here but the form ids you set.
The WooCommerce part does keep things on your site, because it has to: the API key, the list id, the tag and whether orders with a total of zero count, in your site’s settings; and on each order, whether the buyer ticked the box, when, and what was sent for it. The buyer’s address goes to your MBX Reach account in the background, a moment after the order, so a slow answer never keeps a buyer waiting at the end of a purchase.

External services
This plugin renders a form whose target is mbxreach.com, the email marketing service operated by MediaBoxEnt Technologies. When a visitor submits the form, their browser sends the email address they typed, the first name if you asked for one, and (as with any web request) their IP address and browser details to mbxreach.com, where the signup is recorded in the audience of the MBX Reach account that owns the form. Nothing is sent until the visitor presses the button; merely viewing a page with the form sends nothing to us.
With the WooCommerce option set up, your site also calls the MBX Reach API when an order is paid or completed and the buyer ticked the box: it sends the buyer’s email address, first name and last name, the list id and the tag you chose, the order number and your site’s address as the record of where the signup came from, and records an event named “purchase”. It sends nothing about the order’s contents or the payment, and nothing for a buyer who left the box unticked. Your site also calls the service when you save an API key or a list id, to tell you there and then whether the key works and whether the list is in your account.
