Give your visitors a mortgage calculator that shows the math. This plugin adds any of the 18 free calculators from MortgageCalculator.me to a post, page or sidebar. There’s no account, API key or setup.

Options:

• calculator: which calculator. See the FAQ for the list. Default: mortgage-payment-calculator
• picker: true shows a menu to switch calculators
• title: heading text; none hides it. Default: the calculator’s name
• theme: auto, light or dark
• accent: button color as a hex value, such as #0f6b5c
• width: maximum width in pixels. Default: fills the column

External services

This plugin is a front end for the MortgageCalculator.me calculator service, which does the calculations. It’s needed for the plugin to work.

On pages that show a calculator, the visitor’s browser loads the script https://mortgagecalculator.me/widget.js and sends the numbers the visitor enters to the MortgageCalculator.me API (https://mortgagecalculator.me/api/v1/) to get the results. Like any web request, this includes the visitor’s IP address and browser details. The service sets no cookies, does not track visitors, and does not save calculations. Its web server keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser, and the requested address, which includes the numbers entered) for about two weeks for security and troubleshooting. Nothing is sent from the WordPress admin, and nothing is sent on pages without a calculator.
