Free Features
Pre-Order Any Product
Enable pre-orders on simple, variable, composite, bundle, and booking products with a single checkbox. Customers see a customizable “Pre-order now” button and an availability message.
Release Date & Countdown
Set an optional availability date and time. WP-Cron processes pre-orders after the release date: paid physical orders move to Processing, eligible virtual orders to Completed, and unpaid orders request payment. Scheduled processing depends on WordPress cron running.
Product pages display a countdown automatically for future release dates. Configure its visibility, heading, and seconds under WooCommerce > Settings > Pre-Orders > Product countdown.
Use the [npom_countdown] shortcode to embed a live countdown timer anywhere on your site.
Two Payment Models
– Upfront (pay now): Full payment collected at checkout. Order stays “Pre-ordered” until the release date.
– Upon release (pay later): No charge at checkout. On release, customers receive a payment link by email. Automatic charging requires a gateway integration that implements this plugin’s pre-order payment hooks; saving a card alone does not enable automatic charging.
Optional Pre-Order Fee
Add an extra charge on top of the product price (e.g., a reservation fee). It appears as a separate line item in the cart.

All emails are configurable from WooCommerce Settings Emails:
– New Pre-Order (admin)
– Pre-Ordered Confirmation (customer)
– Pre-Order Available / Released (customer)
– Pre-Order Cancelled (customer + admin)

Customers can view and cancel their pre-orders from the standard WooCommerce My Account area.

🔒 Deposit / Partial Payments
For upfront pre-orders, collect a fixed-amount or percentage deposit at checkout. On release, a follow-up order requests the remaining balance by email. Fulfillment stays on hold until that balance is paid. Deposit amounts appear in the order screen and CSV export.
🔒 Quantity Limit Per Product
Cap the total number of pre-orders accepted. Shows a “Only X slots remaining!” urgency notice when running low. Automatically closes pre-orders when the cap is hit — even under concurrent traffic.
🔒 Admin Dashboard Widget
Statistics cached for five minutes on your WordPress dashboard: active pre-order count, revenue, new/completed/cancelled this month, and a list of upcoming releases in the next 30 days.
🔒 CSV Export

Source Code & Build Tools
PHP, CSS, and browser JavaScript are included in this package. The editable Pay Later gateway source is assets/js/npom-gateway.js; its distributed copy is build/gateway/index.js. Countdown and admin-manager styles are in assets/. The build/ directory also contains the bundled product-editor, admin, datepicker, and shortcode scripts.
The development checkout includes scripts/build-gateway.cjs. Run npm run build:gateway there to regenerate the gateway bundle and its asset hash. Run npm test for JavaScript checks. There is no general npm run build command for the legacy bundles.

External Services
This plugin integrates the Freemius SDK for optional account connection, Pro licensing, trials, updates, and checkout. When you choose to connect or purchase, the SDK communicates with Freemius and may send account information, site URL, and plugin/environment details needed for these services. Optional diagnostic sharing is controlled through the SDK consent flow.
