Omnibus by iLabs

Omnibus by iLabs adapts your WooCommerce shop to the requirements of the Omnibus Directive
(on informing about the prices of goods and services) — it automatically tracks the price
history of every product and shows customers the lowest pre-discount price, exactly as
required by law. The plugin works in the background, with no need to enter prices manually
for every promotion.

Automatic price history tracking

Every time a product’s price changes — whether manually in the admin panel, through a
scheduled WooCommerce sale, or programmatically (e.g. via an integration, import, or the REST
API) — the plugin records that moment in the product’s price history. Nothing needs to be run
manually.

Correct discount start anchor

By law, the 30-day window used to determine the lowest price is counted from the moment the
discount starts, and does not shift as the promotion continues. The plugin tracks this
reference point automatically — both for promotions started manually and for those scheduled
in advance in WooCommerce.

Three product regimes

The plugin recognizes three legal situations and applies the correct rule to each:

  • Standard — a product that has been on sale for at least 30 days: the classic 30-day window.
  • New product — a product first offered for sale less than 30 days ago: the window is
counted from the day it was first offered for sale, not from 30 days back.
  • Perishable product — flagged manually in the product editor (General tab): instead of
the lowest price from the last 30 days, the price shown is the one before the first discount.

Manual and scheduled promotions

Both promotions entered manually in the product editor and promotions scheduled in advance
(sale start/end date in WooCommerce) are supported — in both cases the plugin correctly
determines the discount’s starting point.

Notes on the product page and product listings

Information about the lowest price appears automatically on the product page, optionally on
the shop’s product listings (enabled in settings), on product variations, and in the grouped
products table. The note’s content can be customized programmatically via the
ilabs_omnibus_price_note filter, and a shortcode,
[omnibus_by_ilabs_message_single_product], is also available for placing the note manually
anywhere (e.g. in a theme template).

Note: the note does not appear in upsell/cross-sell (related/recommended products)
widgets — only on the main product page and the shop listing.

WooCommerce Omnibus screen

A new admin screen (WooCommerce Omnibus) shows the shop’s data status: the number of
processed/needs-attention products, lets you start the data migration, and lists products
that need manual review after migration.

Data migration from an earlier plugin version

Shops using an earlier version of Omnibus by iLabs (1.x) have their data automatically
detected as requiring a format update. The migration is started with a single click on the
WooCommerce Omnibus screen — the process runs in the background, in batches, and can be
safely paused and resumed.

Migration from the Omnibus plugin (Marcin Pietrzak)

Shops that previously used the “Omnibus — show the lowest price” plugin by Marcin Pietrzak
can import their entire price history into Omnibus by iLabs with a single click — without
losing existing history and without any gap in the correct determination of the reference
price.

Migration requirements:

  • The source plugin (Omnibus — show the lowest price) must be deactivated before starting
the import — if it is active, the import is blocked (both plugins would write data at the
same time, which could corrupt it).
  • The source plugin can be safely removed after migration — even before it, if its files
have already been removed, the data remaining in the database is still detected and
imported. However, we recommend running the migration BEFORE removing the source plugin’s
    files.
  • The import covers all products with price history, not just those currently on sale.
  • The import never overwrites or removes existing Omnibus by iLabs history — it only adds
    new, non-duplicate entries.
  • The process is safe to run again — it does not create duplicates on a repeated import.

Known migration limitations (sometimes requiring manual review):

  • The older version of the source plugin (schema “v3”) recorded only promotional events
in its history — regular price changes without a sale may not have been recorded at the
source. If the import cannot find a reliable reference point for a product currently on
sale, that product is placed on the “needs manual review” list on the WooCommerce Omnibus
screen, where you can manually specify the correct discount start date.
  • If the source plugin already ran its own internal data-format migration, part of the
history of free promotions (price 0) may have been irretrievably lost on the source side
before the import ever sees it — this case cannot be automatically reconstructed.
