Payment Gateway for Ameriabank

This plugin connects a WooCommerce store to the vPOS payment service of Ameriabank CJSC, so that customers can pay by card without leaving the shop’s checkout flow.

It is intended for businesses registered in the Republic of Armenia. To use it you need a vPOS agreement with Ameriabank; the bank issues the credentials that the plugin needs.

How a payment works

Once the plugin is configured, Ameriabank appears as a payment method at the checkout. The customer picks it, the shop sends them to the bank’s secure payment page, and the bank returns them to the shop afterwards with the result. No card details ever pass through the shop.

When the customer comes back, the shop asks the bank directly what happened before the order is marked as paid. The payment identifier, the order reference, the amount, the currency and the payment state all have to agree. An order is never marked paid on the strength of the return address alone.

Completed payments can be seen both in the WooCommerce orders screen and in the console Ameriabank provides.

Apple Pay and Google Pay

Both are switched off by default and each has its own checkbox in the settings. Before switching one on, Ameriabank has to enable that functionality for your merchant account.

No activation key

The plugin needs no identification step and no activation token. Every setting is available as soon as it is activated.

External services

This plugin connects to the Ameriabank vPOS payment service to register orders, to look up the state of a payment, and to confirm, cancel or refund a payment. The order number, order amount, currency, a short order description and your merchant credentials are sent for each payment. This is required for the gateway to work. When the plugin is installed, and again after each update, it sends a one-off notification to https://plugins.hkdigital.am containing four values: the site domain, the plugin version, the e-mail address of the administrator performing the installation, and whether the gateway is switched on. HK Digital uses this to provide support and to notify you about updates. It is sent once per version and never from front-end page loads. The source code of this plugin is distributed under GPLv2 or later, which allows it to be used, studied, modified and redistributed under the same terms.

The licence does not extend to the logos and trademarks included with it. Ameriabank, ArCa, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and their logos, belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the corresponding service. The name and logo of HK Digital Agency LLC may be used only with the company’s permission.
