A cart that is too small is expensive to pick, pack and send. PluginCity Minimum Order for WooCommerce lets you set a minimum order amount, a minimum quantity, or both, and stops checkout until the order is worth taking.
The customer sees a plain sentence such as “Add $15.75 more to reach the $75.00 minimum” or “Add 2 more items to reach the minimum of 6”, on the cart and at checkout. The classic cart and checkout and the Cart and Checkout blocks are both covered.
Moving from another minimum order plugin? Nothing is imported, so you set your minimum again, which takes a minute. The first two answers below explain how this plugin differs and how to switch.
What you get
- A minimum spend, counted from the cart subtotal, before or after coupons
- A minimum quantity, counted as total items or as distinct products
- Messages you write yourself, with {remaining}, {minimum} and {current} placeholders
- A live example on the settings screen of the sentence today’s short cart would see
- Notices on the cart and at checkout, with a switch for each
- Checkout blocked on classic and block flows until every enabled rule is met
- PayPal express buttons refused too, so a one-tap order cannot get past the rules
- A shortcode,
[minimum_order_message], to put the shortfall message anywhere - A choice of whether a cart that costs nothing has to meet the spend minimum
- A choice of whether the minimum is judged including or excluding tax, whatever your prices show
- Minimums converted for shops that sell in more than one currency, so nobody is held to the wrong figure
- Settings import and export, so a configuration can be copied to another shop or kept as a backup
- High-Performance Order Storage compatibility
The free version never phones home. There is no account, no licence key, and no trial clock.
Most shops do not have one rule for every customer: wholesale may skip the minimum, and trade accounts may need a higher spend than retail. Pro is for shops that need those exceptions, and it can style the message to match your theme.
Pro is a separate paid version, sold and distributed by PluginCity. It is not included in this plugin, it is not downloaded by it, and nothing described above depends on it. If you buy Pro you replace this plugin with the version you download from your account, and your existing settings carry over.

The shortfall on the cart: the exact amount to add and the items still to come, beside the total and above the checkout button.

The shortfall at the checkout, under the order total. A customer who got this far still cannot place the order until it is met.

Minimums: a spend minimum, a quantity minimum, or both, with a worked example of the message a short cart would see before you save anything.

The wording is yours. {remaining}, {minimum} and {current} fill themselves in from the cart in front of the customer.

Where the message appears. The cart has its own switch and so does the checkout, so a shop can keep the cart quiet and refuse the order only at the end.
