Popo Reviews

Popo Reviews adds a modern review experience to WooCommerce while keeping review text, ratings, and replies compatible with native WordPress and WooCommerce review storage.

The plugin includes product review display, photo and video reviews, invitation-only review collection, review-request automation, reward coupons, import/export tools, Google Product Ratings, and an optional local integration with Popo Order Track for delivery-triggered review requests.

Popo Reviews is free software. No Popo account, license key, activation key, or subscription is required.

Popo Order Track integration

Popo Order Track is an optional local WordPress integration for stores that want review-request timing to begin from a confirmed shipment delivery event.

• Separate Popo Order Track tab under Popo Reviews > Integrations.
• Detects whether Popo Order Track is installed and active.
• The integration switch cannot be enabled unless Popo Order Track is installed and active.
• Email Flow shows Popo Order Track — Delivered only after the integration is enabled.
• Disabling the integration falls back to WooCommerce Completed when necessary.
• Displays plugin status, integration status, active review-request trigger, and active delivery source.
• Uses local WordPress plugin-to-plugin hooks; Popo Reviews does not duplicate carrier API requests.
• No API key is required between Popo Reviews and Popo Order Track.

Google Product Ratings

Popo Reviews can generate a Google Product Reviews XML feed for Google Merchant Center Product Ratings.

• Google Product Reviews XML feed using schema version 2.4.
• Separate Google Product Ratings tab under Popo Reviews > Integrations.
• Exports technically valid Published/Approved WooCommerce product reviews from 1 to 5 stars.
• Does not provide a minimum-star filter for the Google feed.
• Excludes Pending, Spam, Trash, deleted, and technically invalid reviews.
• Uses a permanent review ID based on the native WordPress review ID.
• Includes verified-purchase and incentivized-review indicators when Popo Reviews has that information.
• Includes reviewer-supplied image URLs when available.
• Normalizes variable-product reviews to the canonical parent product.
• Product matching priority: GTIN, then Brand + MPN, then SKU, then Product URL.

Google Merchant Center must have Product Ratings enabled before the merchant can add the Product reviews data source. After the feed URL is added to Merchant Center, Google can fetch it according to the schedule configured there.

Review rewards

• Reward eligibility is not based on whether the customer leaves a positive or negative star rating.

Shortcodes

Popo Reviews includes reusable shortcodes for WooCommerce product pages, landing pages, page builders, and store-wide review sections.

The legacy [popo_review_gallery] shortcode remains supported for backward compatibility. On a product page, product_id can usually be omitted. Use scope="store" for supported store-wide shortcodes.

Privacy

Popo Reviews can store reviewer names, email addresses, ratings, review text, uploaded images or videos, verification metadata, reward metadata, and review-request metadata related to WooCommerce orders. Review media is stored in the WordPress Media Library.

The plugin integrates with the WordPress personal-data exporter and eraser for review data it manages. It also adds suggested privacy-policy text in WordPress when available.

Optional email-open and review-link click tracking is disabled by default. If the store administrator enables it, tracking uses first-party URLs on the store itself. Popo Reviews does not send telemetry to PopoMaster servers.

When an administrator imports review media from a remote URL, the store server contacts the administrator-provided remote host to download that media. This request occurs only as part of the administrator-initiated import.

If the Google Product Ratings feed is enabled, Popo Reviews exposes a public XML feed containing only Published/Approved review data needed for the Google Product Reviews feed. This can include an abbreviated reviewer display name or Anonymous label, review text, rating, review timestamp, verified/incentivized indicators, product name and identifiers, product/review URLs, and reviewer-supplied image URLs. Reviewer email addresses and WooCommerce order IDs are not included in the feed. The store administrator decides whether to enable this feed and whether to submit its URL to Google Merchant Center.

External services and network requests

Popo Reviews does not require a PopoMaster cloud service and does not send telemetry to PopoMaster. Review-request and reward emails use the WordPress/WooCommerce email environment configured by the store.

If an administrator imports review media from a remote URL, the store server contacts only the administrator-provided remote host to retrieve that media.

If the optional Popo Order Track integration is enabled, Popo Reviews receives supported local WordPress events from that plugin. Popo Reviews itself does not contact PopoMaster tracking servers or carrier APIs for this integration.

The Google Product Ratings integration does not make authenticated Google API requests from the store. When the administrator enables the public XML feed and adds its URL to Google Merchant Center, Google may request that feed URL according to the schedule configured in Merchant Center. The Integrations and Help screens also contain administrator-initiated links to Google Merchant Center and Google Product Ratings documentation/application pages.

Source code and build process

All PHP, CSS, and JavaScript distributed with Popo Reviews is included in human-readable source form in the plugin package. Popo Reviews does not require npm, webpack, a minification step, or other build tooling to regenerate the distributed assets. The JavaScript files in assets/js/ are the maintained source files used by the plugin.
