SME Accounting for WooCommerce

SME Accounting connects your WooCommerce store with SMEVai, an online accounting platform for small and medium businesses. Your products and orders are synced to SMEVai, where you can manage invoices, bookkeeping and financial reports for your eCommerce or F-Commerce business.

This plugin requires WooCommerce and a SMEVai account. Accounting data is processed on the SMEVai platform; see the External services section below for details.

This plugin connects your WooCommerce store to SMEVai (https://smevai.com), an online accounting service provided by SMEVai. The connection is required for the plugin to work: SMEVai uses your store data to create invoices, keep your books and generate financial reports. No data is sent to SMEVai until you enter your SMEVai API key in WooCommerce > Settings > SME Accounting.

All requests are sent to the SMEVai API at https://api.smevai.com/wp/v1/.

• When you save your SMEVai API key: the plugin sends your site URL and a WooCommerce REST API key (consumer key, consumer secret, key ID, permissions and the ID of the user that owns the key) to SMEVai. The REST API key has read/write permissions and is created by the plugin each time you save your SMEVai API key; once SMEVai accepts the new key, the keys created before are revoked. SMEVai uses it to import your existing products and orders and to update order statuses. Your SMEVai API key is sent in the request header for authentication. You can revoke the REST API key at any time in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > REST API.
• When a product or order is created, updated or deleted: after your API key is saved, the plugin registers WooCommerce webhooks for these events. Each time one of these events happens, WooCommerce sends the product or order data to SMEVai. This is the same product or order data the WooCommerce REST API returns; order data includes the customer’s name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, IP address, ordered items, totals and payment method. Your SMEVai API key is sent in the request headers so SMEVai can identify your account. You can view, pause or delete these webhooks in WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Webhooks.
• Stopping the connection: deactivating the plugin pauses these webhooks, and reactivating it resumes them. The “Disconnect from SMEVai” option in WooCommerce > Settings > SME Accounting, or deleting the plugin, removes the saved SMEVai API key, the REST API keys and the webhooks created for SMEVai.
