TCE Assignments Tools is an independent plugin. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or developed by Themeum or Tutor LMS.

For Tutor LMS Pro assignments, learners can record up to five audio responses in the browser and submit them as normal Tutor LMS attachments. Instructors can write coloured text corrections for assignment responses in both WordPress Admin and the Tutor LMS instructor dashboard.

For Tutor LMS quizzes, instructors can create coloured text corrections for Short Answer and Open Ended/Essay answers. The correction editor is available in WordPress Admin and the Tutor LMS instructor dashboard. Learners see their saved corrections when viewing the quiz result.

Compatibility

• Tutor LMS: quiz correction features.
• Tutor LMS Pro with the Assignments add-on enabled: assignment audio recording and assignment correction features.
• WordPress 6.5 or later and PHP 7.4 or later.

Tutor LMS’s Assignments feature is a Tutor LMS Pro add-on. When it is unavailable, the plugin keeps its Tutor LMS quiz-correction functionality and simply does not add assignment-specific controls.

How to use

Audio assignments

1. Enable Allow learners to record audio for this assignment while editing a Tutor LMS assignment.
2. A learner opens the assignment, records audio, stops the recording, and submits the assignment.
3. The audio is attached to the Tutor LMS submission alongside any regular uploads. Learners can add up to five recordings before submission.

Assignment text corrections

1. Open a learner’s submitted assignment from either Tutor LMS > Assignments in WordPress Admin or the Tutor LMS instructor dashboard.
2. Enter the improved version of each written response in Text corrections.
3. Evaluate the assignment normally. Corrections are saved as the learner’s evaluation feedback.

Quiz text corrections

1. Open a quiz attempt from either WordPress Admin or the Tutor LMS instructor dashboard.
2. For each Short Answer or Open Ended/Essay response, enter the correction in the Text corrections panel.
3. Save/evaluate the attempt normally. The learner sees the original and corrected text when reviewing results.

Privacy

TCE Assignments Tools does not collect analytics, create accounts, or contact external servers. Audio recordings and correction data remain on the WordPress site and are handled under the site’s own privacy policy.
