By default WordPress sends every email from wordpress@yourdomain.com with the
sender name WordPress. Recipients see an address nobody recognises, and spam
filters treat it with suspicion.
This plugin changes the WordPress sender email and the from name. Two fields, one
settings page, nothing else to configure.
What it changes
- The from email address on every email WordPress sends
- The from name shown in the recipient’s inbox
It applies to password resets, new user notifications, comment notifications, and
email from contact form and WooCommerce plugins that send through WordPress.
How it works
The plugin hooks the standard wp_mail_from and wp_mail_from_name filters. No
files are modified and nothing is stored beyond the two settings. Deactivate it
and WordPress returns to its own defaults immediately.
What it does not do
It does not send email itself. If your email is not arriving at all, the problem
is delivery rather than the sender address, and you need an SMTP plugin. Changing
the from address helps with how your email looks, and is often enough to keep it
out of spam, but it cannot fix a server that is failing to send.
